Have you started planning for the next school year yet? I’ve thought about it, but I’m not ready to REALLY think about it. ⠀
⠀
A part of me wants to dabble in unschooling again, but my anxiety won’t allow me to let go of math. Most likely we’ll just dive deep into whatever rabbit holes we come across. ⠀
Last year we meant to study a few different ancient civilizations, but instead we zeroed in on Ancient Egypt for a few months and then took a break from history.⠀
⠀
We then fell into another rabbit hole and studied the Animal Kingdom for science. We meant to do more than one kingdom, but I hate to rush my kids out of a topic they’re really into.⠀
⠀
Then towards the end of the school year, when we were all in lockdown mode, we focused our energies into art. I’m a big believer in that mental health is more important than academics, and doubling down on our creative side seemed like the right thing to do.⠀
⠀
However, I’m not sure if we’ll continue on the path we were on last year as I have a tendency to switch things up to avoid stagnation. ⠀
⠀
I think I still have a month or so to go before I really do need to figure things out. Can you tell I’m a procrastinator?⠀
