Some days I’m hanging by a thread, ready to fall apart at the slightest of disruptions. While other days one of the kids may wake up grumpy AF ready to fight me tooth and nail about every. single. thing. And even worse, there have been days where we have ALL woken up on the wrong side of the bed and end up constantly bickering.⠀
⠀
Instead of fighting through all the emotional wreckage to homeschool, we unanimously vote for a mental health day. We all need to take a break at some point, and often times a weekend is just not enough time. ⠀
⠀
The great thing about homeschooling is that you CAN. You can take a break whenever you want, and it’s not going to affect your funding, your kids aren’t going to fall behind, and you’ll all be happier for it.⠀
⠀
With homeschooling, YOU get to make the choices in curriculum, in planning, in methodologies, in schedules, and more.⠀
⠀
YOU are in charge of your child’s education, and if a mental health day or two or three or heck, even a week are called for then do it! For mental health should always, always, ALWAYS trump academics. ⠀
⠀
There’s no debate about it.⠀
